Spring Camp

From 10 to 16 March, two “Spring Day Camps” took place - week-long adventures that gave children and young people from Ukraine, currently living in Latvia, the opportunity to spend time actively and make new friends. The camps were organised by “Mini pitch”, thanks to the support and funding of Ziedot.lv.

The camps were held in two locations - At Lidl Arena and Riga Jugla Secondary School, where participants were treated to a varied programme of sports games, excursions, workshops and team activities each day. Young people could try their hand at various games and competitions, take part in creative activities and enjoy a variety of fun activities, promoting integration and a sense of community.

To make the camp an unforgettable experience, the organisers had prepared excursions to different places in Latvia. The children visited Turaida Museum Reserve, Open-air museum, Riga Zoo and other places.

Spring camps was more than just a sports and entertainment programme - it was a place where children could feel safe, supported and accepted, promoting integration and creating new bonds of friendship between Latvia and Ukraine.
